Disney or Universal?

We are thinking about booking for Easter 2018. We haven't been to Disney for 6/7 years despite a few visits to Florida. We only have the money and energy for either Disney or Universal/Seaworld/Busch Gardens. We have been to the latter in the past few years. We will have two teens with us who love fast rides. Whats new at Disney in the past few years? Which would you choose and why?

With two teens I would say Universal. Having said that my 4-year-old boys also preferred Universal over Disney (much to my horror 😲&#128521

We did Disney with Busch/seaworld 2 day ticket. Best of both worlds in my opinion, my kids 5/8 loved it and i got to do all the mega rollercoasters

I would probably do Universal/ Busch Gardens as more thrilling rides for teens. I can't think of any new thrill rides at Disney in last few years.
Over Easter there is no free DDP with Disney which makes it more expensive than normal.
I was looking on TC holidays website earlier for summer 18 and the prices worked out cheaper than DIY.

My DS (10) loves Disney, but if it was one or the other he'd pick Universal/BG/SW. Faster, "cooler" rides - and Volcano Bay (which looks AMAZING).

If you stay on-site at Universal, your teens could have a little freedom and walk to/from the parks.

Disney need to seriously invest in some new thrill rides. I think Everest was the last one

Just looked at Volcano Bay and that has swayed us! I think the 6 park flex ticket will be best for us. Thanks for all your comments!

We did Easter 2015 with No Disney. 5 nights cabana bay 5 nights RPR then 5 nights avanti on idrive. We had a fantastic time. Did Universal, 1 day at Busch which was a wasted day as the queues there were crazy and they sold out of their jump the q passes you could buy. We did Aquatica for a day too but mostly did Universal. As Disney prices are crazy for next year we are currently thinking of just doing universal and staying at Cabana Bay the whole 2 weeks as we loved the hotel.

Universal only trips have become a lot more feasible than when I was last in Orlando 8 years ago thats for sure. Combine that with cheap(ish) SeaWorld tickets and if you have kids that love faster rides it seems like a no brainer to me.

I'd encourage anyone planning a universal only trip to consider SeaWorld, jhust as a chill out day as I always enjoyed meandering round and checking out the shows etc, even as a kid.

Don't mean to derail the thread, but Floridasun, what did you think of RPR? I booked it for the passes and it seemed fairly standard as hotels go.
