DDP - Swapping dessert for a side...?

Hi Folks
Sorry for a query thats probably been asked / answered a million times... but...on the DDP , for a TS credit, can you ask to swap the dessert for a side?

DW doesn't do desserts but I know she would happily have a side salad / soup with her main meal instead

Thanks

Can you share the link please? My understanding is that you can request and may be offered something like soup, side salad or a fruit plate, but it's not guaranteed at all restaurants. Would be nice to see something official on the Disney site if this has changed

Another option - some restaurants do superb cheese plates which come under ‘desserts’. I have had them as desserts on the DDP.

I cant find the exact link as I was 'surfing' pages, but here's one that is similar and seems to agree with what you said.

I was never offered a starter as I don't eat much desserts. I was offered fruit or coffee few times.

You can't swap desserts for starters, it's just a limited selection of soup, side salad or fruit plate and you have to ask if there are any substitutions available. They may not offer them at all restaurants.

Thanks all... looks like it may vary from place to place so will just ask when ordering...its a salad she would most likely ask for, [I know you can get an appetizer]

We’ve only ever been offered a soup or a salad in place of dessert at signature restaurants. A smaller version of whatever is on the appetiser menu. Never been offered a side.

We don’t do desserts either. She may get a soup or side salad but not guaranteed and extremely unlikely to have the pick of any sides.
