Whats it like with the changes to QS re drink etc
OK, so for anyone that has been since the new changes have been made re drinks, alcohol etc. can someone tell us anything about exactly what you can and cant have. Ive heard cocktails and wine, beer but is that across the board, or are there certain drinks you can and cant have. We love the cocktails in France/Epcot, are they on it - any help would be great.
Also, Margaritas in the little bottles in the QS reataurants, that sort of thing.

I just bumped the "Some Adult Only Fun" post from a month or so ago that was basically an alcoholic drinks version of a food report so it does have QS options as well as TS.
We are on QSDP in August so I've been researching this quite a bit. As far as I can tell there are very few exclusions. So as long as the cocktails you like at Epcot are available somewhere that offers QS meals, you should be able to get them. For example I've seen reports that at La Cantina de San Angel in Mexico you can get any of the margaritas. At resort food courts it seems to mainly be bottled beer, wine or cocktails so not quite as attractive in my opinion. |

It depends on where you are as to what you can have. We ate at backlot express in HS last week and OH had a beer and I had a strawberry dacquiri with our entrees. We both had cider with our meals at POR and FQ and had lemonade slushies when at MK (can’t remember exactly where). Alcoholic drinks aren’t available everywhere which serves QS meals but it was nice to have something other than water or soda for a change!

From memory, it's anything up to around $15 in value as a rough guide but it must be a single serving - no flights, for example. Pretty sure they're all over that value anyway though.
But under that value, it's more or less any alcoholic drink which is ordered at the same time as a meal - this is also true at TS. So if you're there during festivals, the drinks at the food booths wouldn't count even if you buy food as well since they're not considered meals. But the standard Epcot QS venues would be fine. |

Oh right, so it is just with meals then, cant use a snack credit on its own for an alcoholic drink then?

Afraid not. The only change is the drink that comes with your meal can now be alcoholic if you so choose and are over 21 with ID to prove it. Only throwing that last bit in because often the next question is if someone can buy alcohol with their kids' meals. And no, would be that answer.

Just read this, had assumed you could only get an alcoholic drink with a table service meal. So if on the dining plan, can I get an alcoholic drink with each quick service meal and also with each table service meal, so up to 2 each day for duration of the stay?

Yes, assuming the QS venue serves alcohol. Most do, with the exception of any located in MK. Alcohol in MK is restricted to TS venues only.
ETA: Many will only have beer or wine available but there are some with cocktails. I remember seeing margaritas for example, I think at one of the HS QS venues funnily enough. Edited at 08:52 PM. |
