If they’d have helped repack etc, I may have left them to it and sat eating a family pack of biscuits.

He’ was pretty fed up, he had put everything away neatly, frozen in one, Christmas chocs in a another, fridge in another. I throw everything in Willy nilly The amount was up he had to pay so he wanted to pay them and they sort it out after we left but they couldn’t. We are back to sainsburys this week anyway, they all know us and I’m sure they would be more helpful if the till broke.

This is why I don’t use tills anymore, it’s such an inefficient way to shop. Putting your stuff in the trolley and then emptying it all out onto a conveyer belt, just to then put it all back in again!

At least with self scan you can pack your bags at the time you put your items in the trolley and then just walk out when you’ve paid. Very rarely have I had a random scan check but even if I had one, I’d still feel that it wasn’t a big deal to rescan because I never had to go through the conveyor belt process in the first place.
I don’t even use the hand scanners, I use the app on my phone and scan with my own device. I LOVE it in M&S because my local one is a simply food store and the till queues get quite long, so using my phone to scan and pay without even going to a till point is one step better than the supermarket. I haven’t had anyone accuse me of just walking out without paying yet but I’m secretly looking forward to it so I can smugly show them I paid on my phone 😂
