Universal annual pass/hotel booking

Hi,
We've booked a last minute cheapo trip leaving on friday to Orlando (Ł930 for family of 4 MAN-SFB, pretty decent!) & have booked into RPR at universal for 2 nights of the trip (this cost about Ł493 total)
We have 14 day 3 park tickets & I was thinking if we could upgrade one of these to the annual pass & get the APH rate at the hotel (Ł333 total)

Of course we'd lose VB on one of the passes but we only plan on going there one day - so we can go to VB before we check in to RPR or I pay an extra $67 for a day to get in.

It's a Ł160/Ł110 saving so worth it I think!

Does anyone know if I can book the APH rate without having my pass already?

You can book without it but need it at check in.

They don't normally ask to see it at check in so you should be fine

I was asked to show mine last month.

Really? In our many stays on site, although granted never at CBBR, we have never been asked even though we have them

maybe they already know from their system

Yea, it seems to be very hit and miss when they ask, when we had AP for a few years , out of the 5 times we stopped on site , we were asked twice to show it.

Yes I was definitely asked to show AP when booked on an AP rate.

I can't get any aph rates to come up online now since they accommodated website for vb any idea guys
