DD also finished - taking a year out now, found it very hard to cope with just about everything. Needs to find a job and realise that life goes on, grow up a bit and decide if Uni is what she wants to do another year. Hopefully now there is less pressure - from herself! - everyone else was telling her to step back, etc. things will ease a little.
Thank goodness for the University visits threads - got another one going for it next year - so I imagine university visits 2020 is going to see some angst too! Can't wait for results day, get it all out of the way... |

It was a double whammy here as I had one son doing gcses and the other doing A-levels! But both finished yesterday morning and I can already feel the house relaxing, thank goodness!
Well done everyone!

I actually have to say it was far less stressful than the GCSE's! We have twins, and one of them did her Business A level a year early, and is doing Art this year, with no exam as such. Her sister has an unconditional offer from her Uni of choice, so she really didn't feel pressured. She also said that a couple of the subjects were papers she found easy. She finished on Friday and is now busy at work trying to earn "plenty dollar" for the holiday.

How did everyone find OCR Chemistry today? DD has come out devastated. She went in really confident and prepared and found the first two exams absolutely fine but this one she said was horrific. Way too many questions and mathematical working out for the length of time they had and they were all so difficult to understand. Just hoping that she has done well in the first two so this one won't be too much of a disaster. She needs an A so the pressure is really on. Feel so sorry for her.

My son hated it too. He thought paper one was hard, paper two was easy and paper three Terrible. He was hoping for an A before the exams started but now thinks he’ll be lucky to get a B. Such a shame as he knew his stuff so incredibly well but never got a real chance to showcase what he knew. It also means I’ll be doing research into other universities as clearing is a big possibility now.
