Dining Plans and exchnage rates

Is there any point that the dining plans become better to pay for, due to the declining value of the pound, than paying as you go?

I would have thought so. Given the current exchange rate and the fact that Disney don’t change the price during the year I would definitely buy it if we weren’t getting it free.

Yes.

If I was going between now and Christmas and didn’t have free ddp I would be adding it tbh. I can see the rate dropping to parity before Halloween.

Ddp prices are fixed...and were fixed when the rate was much better

Didn't even think of this! May be a good idea like people have said above... means you don't have to think about it on holiday then too! Never done DDP before but have upgraded from free QSDP to DDP for next years stay, after looking into it looks like a good deal anwyaays

This is our first year with a dpp it’s just the qsdpp and to be honest I’m quite impressed. If you research where to eat we’ve had some lovely food and snacks I would never have bought. Hubby is a big eater and had never been hungry. I would consider again for next time given the poor exchange rate.

Booked QSDP with Virgin holidays last week £900 for 2 x 11 nights. Going the end of August this year. Now I don’t have to worry about food and a bonus is the Food and Wine festival is on. I didn’t like the way the £ to the $ rate was going.

I'm sure there must be a clause in Disney t&cs where they can increase the price we pay like other travel agents. It will be interesting to see if any TAs do this over the next year or so

Yes, there’s a clause about extra costs caused by Brexit, and another clause that says they can increase the cost of your package due to changes in exchange rates, so long as it is more than 20 days before your holiday.

We were a bit nervous about this with our first DLP holiday, which was booked before the referendum and took place two months afterwards. There was such a huge drop in the £/€ exchange rate between booking and actually going on holiday, they certainly would have been able to ask for more money, but luckily they didn’t.
