This is why she has chosen to apply for uni halls this year. We feel she will find it easier to make friends in uni halls too, as the private rentals rent to both unis in Bristol so she could be in halls with no other students from her uni if she chose private renting.

Plus, as you mention, many students do drop out in the first year so private renting would be less sympathetic to this if it happened. Of course, I’m hoping Georgia will be happy there and this won’t be an issue, but I don’t want her to stress over expenses if her mental health was suffering

When they start looking for 2nd year accomodation bear in mind agents or landlords can't charge fees anymore and deposits are only 5 weeks rent. To secure the property they can only ask for 1 weeks holding deposit which can then be deducted from the full deposit.

Us too!

The upstairs landing is full of boxes, I’m not sure how it’s all going to fit into her room and she hasn’t packed any clothes yet!

We’re off to Cardiff shopping tomorrow as she’s going to need some smartish clothes when she goes out on her school placements.

My son had uni halls at Huddersfield and we/I had to still pay for the full year when he dropped out at Christmas of his 1st year. They said he could try to find someone to take over the lease himself but gave him no help. The company was DIGS and they ran the student accommodation for Huddersfield. Just paid it and told him to forget about it, his dad was very ill and coming to the end of his life with cancer and Huddersfield/DIGS couldn't have cared less, they just wanted their money !
So I would just say go for halls where they will be happy.

- is that for private accommodation?

O has access from 19th August to 3rd June. It works out at about €52 a week!

Yes it's private halls. At £115 a week, 52 weeks is a huge chunk to pay.
