We’re flying from Gatwick South at 3pm, getting there around noon to check in. I was looking at a few reviews of the My Lounge with a view to using that for lunch and drinks, but they’re a bit mixed to say the least. It would have cost just over Ł50 for the 4 of us with the Tastecard deal, but I think I’ll just get something from one of the coffee places instead.

We always go through to departures as soon as we can. We use Manchester so not much to do before that anyway, and can’t see the point in delaying it. We can always find something to amuse ourselves once airside.

I would still allow 3 hours, personally if you’ve done twilight check in I would aim to be at the terminal 3 hours before perhaps 2 and a half if you have fast pass if not I would aim to have checked in and be ready to go through security at the 3 hour point

Im a complete worrier and like to be there 3 hours before, hubby on the other hand always thinks I'm crazy and gets annoyed waiting in the airport. Of course I win and he endures the wait whilst I shop. lol

We get to the airport 3 - 3.5 hours before the flight and as soon as we have checked in we go through.

We stay at the airport the night before but always air on the side of caution and give it a full three hours. We arrived this week At Manchester for an EU flight and for there two hours before. Security and check in took a full hour.
