Best way to use Virgin Credit Card upgrade/companion vouchers?

Hi!

Like so many at the moment we are reconfiguring our travel plans and trying to work out the best way to do so.

We have 2 vouchers through our credit card for either an upgrade to premium or a companion flight (economy only).

Would we be able to use both these vouchers on the same trip e.g. use the companion element to buy 2 economy return flights and then apply the second voucher to upgrade one leg each to premium?

I hope that makes sense! We are really struggling on how best to use these!

We used the upgrade option for our flights on the trip that never was, March/April.
We paid economy for the two of us one way and used the two vouchers to upgrade to PE. We then used 75,000 miles for the return trip in PE. The cash we parted with was £629.48.
We only had two upgrade vouchers though, so couldn't do the companion option.

A couple of years ago we used a companion voucher from LHR to IAD; paid for PE for me both ways and used the voucher for DW's companion seat. Can't recall how much cash we parted with.

I do recall though that we couldn't do it online, had to call. They should be able to look at both options for you though to see which works out cheaper.

Good luck!

Just to say...

When our trip was cancelled we didn't get the voucher back, but that was because it expired about a month after we used it. If yours are recent vouchers you shouldn't have that problem.
