Whilst it been announced that Virgin are cutting back on staff and pulling out of Gatwick in the small print it says its discontinuing the further use of the 7 747 aircraft in the fleet, so what will be flying from Manchester?

I think they’ve said only some of the planes discontinued. Anyway they’ve said they are concentrating on Manchester- weren’t they bringing the new planes online there this year anyway?

TBH I always found it surprising that Virgin were still using the 747's, must be at least 6 years possibly longer since BA stopped them. They all seem to have it in for Gatwick! There must be a reason why BA & Virgin favour Heathrow, I mean it's not as if BA fly a MCO route out of there at the minute!

BA still fly a lot of 747’s. Some of them are now parked up in Gloucestershire

Well I for one will miss the 747’s out of Manchester. There’s way more room in UC with only having 14 seats as opposed to 30+. I suppose there will be more miles availability though - presuming they keep going 🤞

I have just checked my flights on the website. I upgraded for extra legroom and they have changed my seats and allocated non legroom seats . I am fuming and will be in touch with Virgin on Tuesday.
