Odd thing to say, HS has both Fantasmic and the Star Wars fireworks which are both incredible. For me the evening shows at HS are both better than the one at AK.

I rarely do only one park in a day - park hopping is the norm for me (but I am also solo so it's easy to do, with a lot of people it might be harder).
It's actually very easy to get between the Disney parks as there is always a mode of transportation available whether by bus, monorail or boat. Can take up to 30 minutes to an hour to get between the parks though, taking into account waiting and transfer times! Example ways of getting between parks Magic Kingdom to Epcot: monorail (need to change at TTC). Or ferry to TTC then monorail. Epcot to DHS: walk or boat Magic Kingdom to DHS: bus AK to anywhere: bus (For a while it was incredibly easy to park hop because of the Express transportation bus service which you had to pay a bit extra for - sadly it's since been discontinued!)

Yes, you can visit more than one park in a day (assuming you have park hopper tickets). In the past, we've been to 3 parks in one day - that was before AK opened.
You can get the monorail between Magic Kingdom and Epcot. And you can get a boat or walk between Hollywood Studios and Epcot World Showcase (via the International Gateway). Otherwise, you can get a Disney bus between the parks (eg. from MK to AK). One thing to note though that it takes a good 20 minutes or so to get from one park to another. Plus allow time to get out of the park, wait for the next bus/monorail/boat, go through bag check and then enter the second park. If you are driving then it's probably easier to drive over to the second park (you only have to pay for parking once per day).

Agree, if anything Hollywood Studios has the most variety in the evenings depending on when you are there. Theres the Star Wars show, the Movie Magic pre show as well as Fantasmic. Plus at the moment there is Sunset Season Greetings and Jingle Bell, Jingle Bam AND I believe theres a new Star Wars projection event along Sunset Boulevard starting soon.
Back onto the original question, we did a few park hops in the afternoon/evening and all I would say is make sure you leave enough time. For instance, if you are hopping from AK to MK for the 9pm fireworks, dont aim to get there for 8.30. Always give yourself an hour or two in the final park to account for delays at security, monorails or anything like that. But if planned with enough time then its very comfortably done and you'll feel like you've taken in loads in a single day or even just an evening. |

I agree, enjoyed the Star Wars fireworks just as much as Rivers of Light! Plus if you don't want to do those, you can always jump on TSM or something for a last ride. I still think HS is actually quite cool at night, especially the road leading down to TOT.
