Yes it normally depends on the age of the car if the satnavs works or not, as the navigation is on a subscription service, and a new car comes with a few free months subscription. After that it’s off.

We ended up with a Mazda CX-5, we were looking for any kind of ford ideally but none at all in the standard suv row, this was after 9pm at night.
It wasn’t in the best condition, few dings in the paintwork, but it was nice enough to drive. no built in satnav but our package included one so pick d it up at the exit booth.

Arrived on Monday and was heading to the standard SUV row when the greeter asked to see my paperwork and pointed to where I was heading and said that all the SUVs and Minivans were over there in the SUV line. Every car but one was a Minivan with the other being a Hyundai Santa Fe which I didn’t particularly want so I asked a couple of passing Alamo staff whether there were any more SUVs. They dismissively said what was there was all that was available. I couldn’t be bothered to wait for something else to turn up so chose the Santa Fe and by the time I had registered the registration number against our Sun Pass Transponder account a Nissan Murano had been brought onto the line which ordinarily I would have taken as my first choice. Worst choice I’ve ever had in half a dozen visits in the past year but my impatience to get away and the fact that I’m not too precious about what car I have meant I didn’t hang around to see what else turned up. Clearly they had a shortage of SUVs and a surfeit of Minivans at the time.
