Couldn't wait any longer so have just booked :-) 24th July -9th August

BA in/out of Tampa 16 nights Rosen Inn at Pointe and a 7 seat mini van £6600 for 4 adults and 3 kids and £3986 for adults and 2 kids for the same. The lowest we've found for a while. I booked it over the phone and got it slightly cheaper than online and he said they lowered sale prices slightly today and they would be like it for a couple of days then they expect seats to sell and prices to go up.

After lots of indecision regarding red tide, sales prices, which airport etc. I found a deal via Monmodo that I went for. I actually went via the BA site. Hope they've properly dealt with the data breach.

Fly drives to Fort Lauderdale were coming out better than Tampa (which had been my preferred airport). Mixed reviews on FLL, but I'll go with them for the saving.

Late July to August for 4 people for 24 nights with Group W SUV was just under £3000, compared to Tampa just under £3500 and Miami I think was even more.

I had been hoping for a mega deal like the one I got to LAX a couple of years ago for 3 weeks same people and car for about £2200. However I'm happy with the price and just need to not look at the comparison sites any more.

The only slight annoyance is that I put in the Avis Preferred number, but it's bounced back saying that as my previous card details have not been updated I won't have the benefits this time etc.
I will contact them to try to get this changed, but only a minor issue to me.

I'm really happy to have the fly drive in place.

I'll probably look at 2 or 3 nights at Hollywood / Fort Lauderdale before heading to the Gulf Coast.
