Hiring a winibago

Does anyone have reviews or experience of renting a winibago and doing a small tour of Orlando and possibility down to the keys.

Thanks

When you say Winibago are you using it as a generic term for an RV like Hoover for vacuum cleaner or mean a proper Mini-Winnie/Coach size Winibago?

We hired a 28ft RV and took 10 days to travel up to Orlando from Miami and stayed there 11 days using KOA vouchers which we bought prior to travelling.
The vehicle was fine with all necessities provided but we did find it very restricting and quite understand why people tow cars behind their RV's. We wouldn't do it again unless we could find a hire company who hire out campervans (Eurovans) in the US.

Another problem is that RV parks don't work out cheap and depending on what time of the year you want to go (Winter being the worst because of the snowbirds) you may not even find anywhere to park it.

KOA always keep a few sites in reserve for voucher holders. If you ring dead on 9am you get what you want. State parks are reasonable and are bookable. We usually booked 24rs ahead and were ok and we went late November.

We looked into renting an RV last year for a trip to Fort Desoto Park but was very expensive.

Looked at this last year and it worked out expensive. Factor in rental, 10mpg fuel costs and RV pitching costs and it was cheaper to hire a car and use motels.
