Very easy to get to Sixt. Doesn't take long in the little shuttle.
Card DL, credit card. No need for paper part - it's obsolete unless you don't have your photocard license - and bring your passport (which you'll have anyway). No DVLA code. No IDP. |

Does anyone know what the hold is on the credit card with SIXT? Been told a couple of different things from max $250 a week to 3 times the amount of the car hire also the rental plus $200. Need an exact figure or close too as we have a limit on the credit card. Thankyou

Hi,
This information has been taken from Sixt regarding deposits. Deposits & Approvals 7. What deposit would I have to leave? In general, credit card authorization of a minimum of $200 plus the amount due for the rental will be taken as an authorization for security purposes. The authorization will be higher for specialty vehicles. For debit cards a deposit of $200 plus the cost of the rental will be taken. These funds will not be available to you during the rental. The rental location may also perform a credit check or may require additional qualifications in accordance to local policies to determine whether the renter qualifies for a rental of a luxury vehicle. The renter must meet the minimum criteria determined by the location to qualify. Note: Depending on the banking institution the amount is not immediately debited but held on the cardholder’s bank account until the final rental charge amount has been debited. When the vehicle is returned, the invoiced amount will be charged to the credit card provided, unless you (the renter) present another form of payment. So it looks like a minimum of $200 unless you have hired a very expensive vehicle and most people have already paid upfront so just the deposit to pay. See table below for higher authorization amount by category. Vehicle group Minimum Deposit amount PC**, PF**, PT**, LC**, LD**, LF**, LT** $500, or Rental amount + $200, whichever is higher XCAR, XCAV, XDAV, XFAR, XFAV, XFAZ, XTAR $1000, or Rental amount + $200, whichever is higher XDAR, XZAN, XFAN, XJAN, XSAJ, XTAJ, XTAM, XTAN $ 2500, or Rental amount + $200, whichever is higher I hope this helps.

Just in case this may ease any concerns you may have. Last year we had a car from Sixt Orlando and were involved in an accident. We had a local run into the back of us in Cape Coral, totally her fault. Upon returning the car we passed on the Police report and had to complete a short form. We then heard nothing more and were charged nothing by Sixt, when you add in the fact that the twice we have used Sixt we have had very new cars exactly as I requested (A Cadillac not a European car.) I would recommend them highly.
