Jiko
Ate here last night - service was excellent and food was lovely, and delivered to table very quickly.
The only thing to be aware of is that 2 of the party decided to order a bottle of wine (as it was $22 per glass, and $57 per bottle). We were told that the wine was unavailable, but they recommended another in the "same price point". When the bill came, the wine was $99. Maybe just me but I don't think $99 is pretty similar to $57, and the 2 members of the party who had ordered felt a bit embarrassed that this had pushed up the price by that much. However, the food was absolutely lovely. We had filet mignon (most of us!) and it was delicious and very tender with a decent size (6-7oz portion), one of us had the Wagyu beef, which was also 6oz and very flavoursome, and a couple had the seafood curry which was also delicious, but needed a little bit of deconstruction (shellfish needed removing from shells, although this gave them the excuse to lick their fingers ) The strawberry shortcake was lovely, there was black pepper on the strawberries (not to everyone's taste, but just saying if it's not to yours then you could ask them to leave that off). Kilimanjaro dessert was lovely and chocolately with pistachios, and the sunset cake was yummy as well Edited at 12:39 AM. |

Jiko's is excellent. We eat there a lot albeit this year I think Citricos has edged it into second place.
Ahh the old wine trick! Never trust a server when offering wine options. They are a bit like rental car desk clerks!

It would have caused a row but if I was sure the server had said it was at the same price point I wouldn't have paid for it, I'd have offered to pay for the price of the bottle I originally asked for. Rest of the family would have disowned me though

This happened to us at Artist Point last year..Our server came back and apologised that our wine choice was not available, and recommended another one, but I asked for the menu, had a quick look, and saw it was double the price and said no thanks, I quickly picked another one at roughly the same price..As for Jiko, it's our must eat restaurant on every trip..

Kilo is a firm favourite of mine along with Citricos and Cali grill. Love the short rib and the filet.

Yes, we loved Jiko this last time. I had the Beef Short Rib and it was melt in the mouth beautiful!
Never ordered a bottle of wine in Disney... always been massively put off by the price haha! |

Yep this happened to us this year. Ordered a bottle about $45 server said it wasn't available, I should have looked again at the menu but she told us she had a similar so I said okay. When the bill came the wine was $75. I didn't say anything to hubby who hadn't realised (not that he would have been too concerned) and handed over my credit card. Lesson learned 😕

Scary wine prices especially considering the 20% tip on top. I remember ordering a $40 one in the Wave restaurant about 5 years ago and it was the cheapest nastiest stuff imaginable.
I tend to curb my drinking at Disney. As for Jikos, went there on the same holiday and enjoyed it. I think my favourite restaurant is the French one in Epcot. |
