Hertz basic package

Looking to rent a Dodge Charger or similar for next August. Scouting around Hertz seen to be charging a decent rate currently.

It's been a while since I have rented independantly as opposed to part of a Virgin package holiday.

What I'm looking for is a package which covers me for those scratches and marks which can happen and the rental companies charge you for down the line.

Is this included in the Hertz prices, or is it an optional extra which I'm struggling to see? It shows LDW as included. Is that this cover?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Hertz insurance covers all the necessary insurance. The only other add on is the roadside assistance for lost keys etc. I never take it so not sure exactly what it covers. My understanding from other posters is that even with standard insurance you won’t get chased for the odd scratch.

We used Hertz in August and our car was dented and scratched in the hotel car park. We checked at the time and were told there would be no charges as everything was covered. If you choose the pay at location option you can then cancel up until the last minute whereas if you prepay there is a cancellation charge. The Dodge is very cheap on Hertz at the moment so I can't see it being much cheaper.
