Seems to be only avis doing the great prices at the moment and maybe its the collection at hard rock hotel at universal that makes the difference in collecting from mco

I think it’s definitely a Universal thing Mike, half the price, when it usually costs more

I know when I hired a car last month it was $325 for the week (Ford Escape) to collect from a Lowe’s hotel and 3 times more for same car at the airport

This might be very naive of me, but given the concerns about car hire availability it seems like a good sign that they're still allowing people to book cars? Otherwise they'd just be compounding the problem.

I can’t get close to those prices for my dates. Maybe cos we want a standard SUV.

SUV Ford Escape for us next March if we don't get to go in October was £1000 more than we paid for this year ... can't see us going next year if this year gets cancelled

Right so been doing some research based on an Avis booking I made yesterday. Collection from Portofino and HRH usually attract a premium, not sure if it’s a glitch but it’s much much cheaper to collect from Universal right now rather than MCO. 10 nights, group W collect Portofino 10th May return MCO 24th is £483. Exact same dates and class of car, collect and return to MCO is £1034 ... that’s more than double! Both pay on arrival
