anyone had whiplash ?
so yesterday was a bad day , got rammed in the rear by another car , his car is def a write off , mine might survive . he was a decent guy and accepted fault straight away .
so insurance wise it should be smooth . today i woke with my neck and shoulders so stiff and achy ! also a headache . the insurance asked if i experienced any pain etc so i told them and they put me thru to injury claim people . i’m not sure it’s that drastic , but scared it’ll get worse . does anyone have experience of this ? what will happen next ? will i have to see a dr ? etc ?

No experience sorry.
However a few things I have learnt along the way from colleagues of mine
Finally never accept an offer from an Insurer until at least 2+ years have passed. My colleague did and eventually it got worse and worse and he is crippled and lost his job. All becuase he accepted the circa £1600 pay out. Best of luck.

Agree with Tom, see a GP/A&E as soon as possible.
Many years ago the same happened with my misses, she was off work for around 3 months due to whiplash and from not being given the right advice. If it hurts you’ll be inclined to not move and this is not a good idea! Make sure you get professional medical/physio advice. My DW had to keep a pain diary for her claim and got a good payout in the end, which was more than deserved. I was driving, had no ill effects other than taking one day off work to recuperate and got £500 for the privilege! Number one priority for you is seek medical advice. Good luck.

Please seek medical advise... neck sore= you won't move it = sore stiff neck and so one, vicious circle.
Don't accept a pay out for whiplash as you have no idea how bad you might end up/how long unable to work etc. |

I had a bump about 4 years ago, someone went into the back of my car at low speed with minimal damage to my car as I had a tow bar. I was fine at the time but sore the next day and had to get Naproxen from my GP. It got worse and I’m was in so much pain. The insurance paid for several physio sessions for me which was a great help. The relief after each session was amazing. I got about £2000 in compensation but regret accepting that at the time as I still get pain when I am out walking any distance and can’t carry a backpack, no matter how light it is. I honestly thought people exaggerated to make a claim before it happened to me. I had no idea how painful it is so definitely get checked out.

Yes someone ran in the back of me and I was cut out by the fire crew ,car a right off ,ended up in hospital with a grade 3 whiplash injury ,took lots of physio to get me moving again ! 4 years on its far from right ,and no payout will ever fix my neck sadly 😔

After more crashes than I can count my advice is to get your injuries documented at either GP's, urgent care etc.
They can also arrange for a physio appointment which is in your best interest to go to. If offered a prescription for painkillers then take it, you don't have to actually get the drugs but it shows that you were in enough pain to be given them, then keep a copy of the prescription as proof. You mentioned that you've spoken to a claims handler, they are an intermediary and as such can take a wedge out of any money you might get, you need to get some advice from a solicitor (most do free consultation)and the main question needs to be how will they get paid, you want them to get their money from the other party and not as a % out of what you get. The last issue is that due to the money grabbing cash for crash criminals any whiplash compensation has been significantly reduced and it may now be in the region of £1500.

Have you recorded it with the police as an injury RTC? If not make sure you get this done also, as your insurance company will require it.
