Days 6 and 7
Most importantly we have wifi! Woooo

There has been a lot of holes and drilling

Fireplace now boarded and extractor fan connections in

Window bricked up ready for new window coming on Friday

Waste pipe in and walls started to be tidied in the toilet

It’s noisy and dusty but they are working really hard!

The builders went home at lunchtime today as they have worked so hard that they now need the window to arrive (tomorrow), a plasterer to do the kitchen/downstairs toilet which is plumbed in (hopefully tomorrow) and the kitchen units to arrive (next Thursday).

However we have one room finished, the bathroom. Admittedly it only needed a bit doing, 3 coats of paint, a new toilet seat (you don’t want to know) and some storage.

I still want to style it a bit more, few more plants maybe as I have loads of window sills in there, but I think we can say 1 down an awful lot to go 😂

The dog is genuinely the least of my troubles, the husband is more problematic! 😂

I don’t want to jinx myself, and it is hard living in dust/rubble, but it is going really well so far. I’m cleaning top to bottom twice a day but it just settles everywhere. Much quicker than expected. It’ll be stuff like tiling that will take forever and I’ll get twitchy…..

We are eating out far too much just because it’s easier!

I would have been tempted for a laugh, except I didn’t see it fully. When we got the keys the house was one of the grimmest things I have ever seen. We did our best on the Monday before we moved the furniture in, but I let DH deal with that.
I was off work the Tuesday and I had the joy of trying to deep clean the kitchen, I had 3 showers 😂

I was in the bath the second day and DH came in for a wee as we only have only the one toilet at the min, and I caught a glimpse of the under side of the toilet seat. It’s now well and truly in the bin 🙈 some people have no shame. I scrubbed and scrubbed and scrubbed our last house and it wasn’t even dirty

Lovely to see you earlier! I think it will be great when done. It’s a bit scary to think that the only rooms that any real work has commenced on is the old kitchen/toilet utility, and the new kitchen. But to be fair that’s the only structural stuff. The rest is plaster, paint and flooring, so we’ll defo crack it a room at a time
