VH balance question
Due to pay our fly drive balance next week. We are waiting on the US too, not for a date but detail on unvaccinated children as mine won't be by then. If they won't let them in, we can't go.
Anyone had any luck in getting the balance payment delayed to less than 6 weeks? Spoke to VH yesterday and if we pay the balance and then can't go because of this reason, we can only rebook and they won't give a voucher. We can't rebook yet as two children are doing exams and we have no idea of dates and if they will go ahead or not. And flights for next year are extortionate and don't want to pay thousands more So our choice is cancel and get a voucher for the deposit now, and then rebook for Xmas at higher price if we can get in. Or pay balance and be a bit stuck if we have to cancel. We just want to see our inlaws at Xmas |

I have the same problem. Balance due next week and I have teenagers. I’m just hoping the US let us know by next week. I don’t know what I will do if not! Such a hard situation. Wish I had booked with BA as balance is only due 3 weeks before travel.

I should add that the VH website clearly says you can take a voucher up to 3 weeks before you fly, so I think a voucher should be an option.

Can't find the bit on their website about a voucher 3 weeks before, only rebooking. It says about a voucher but doesn't say how long before you need to cancel. Unless I'm looking in the wrong place? I had an email a couple of weeks ago to say I had to make any changes by 1st November (or be charged for changes after) but that doesn't match with what they say on the website, and they said nothing about a voucher.
At least BA is pretty straightforward |

I followed the refund guarantee and it takes you to Virgin Atlantic with all the policies. I’m not sure how to add a screenshot here, but try this.
flywith.virginatlantic/g...es-policy.html What I want to know are the terms and conditions of the voucher, eg can I use it for a hotel only booking. I can’t find that anywhere. |

The VH page just says to use the voucher to book a new holiday, so I assumed a package
BA have some great prices today - cheaper than what I've paid with VH so might just take the deposit voucher to use next year and rebook with BA |

I would speak to them directly and see what they say, that seems terribly unfair if you can't go to not be able to get a voucher or refund.

I asked back in August if they’d delay final payment to 3 weeks in line with what BA offer and they refused. We ended up taking the voucher for the deposit instead
