Quoted £750 on holiday autos for an economy car 14th - 28th August 2021. Emailed Andy at DFCH this afternoon. He can do one for £350 with Budget or £450 Alamo. Full insurance -inc spouse and full to full with both companies. Went for Alamo due to being able to select vehicle and the swifter check in process.
Andy rocks! - saved me £300 😁. |

Hi Em - I used HA for years until they sold out in 2013 to Car Trawler and prices increased significantly. Tonight I tried a one day booking via HA and Budget, HA are £20 more.

Got an offline price with Andy and just compared against Virgin - Andy is about £30 more expensive but I'll stick with him as happy with his service and this booking has been shifted 3 times now. Some of the prices are ridiculous.

I too got an offline price with Andy but it’s £150 more than I can get with a company I have used before, exactly same deal, sorry Andy but know which one I’ll go with

The good thing about Andy is the nothing upfront. That’s worth it’s weight in gold just now for our august trip

For entirely selfish reasons I’m going to resurrect this thread. I know there’s a significant number of us having to reschedule to next year and car hire prices are eye watering so if anyone has come across any bargains or glitches please post here.
I’ve discovered the small premium SUV on Hertz was a good price for this year and seems to be the same next year. There’s 4 of us so I’m not sure if it has the boot space we need but might be good for a couple or small family with small luggage! |

Watching with interest as hoping the prices come down. Been looking at fly drives with BA for next July and apart from the small cars the price jumps up to nearly 4 grand 😳 needing it to come down or hubby will say we’re not going.
