Virgin are doing the same on the Miami route three times a week with the VS5.

When my flight was cancelled last week, I was told the year thing for booking had been changed and you could keep moving.
I booked a flight September 2020 for May 21, then moved it to June, then August. I then booked by deposit a fly drive for October (as it was cheaper than what I paid originaly by £1200) So wanted a refund, then pay of the October flight when refund came through) When I spoke to the lady on the phone she told me their policy had changed and I didn't need to book a new flight with new reference number and I could just keep moving the flight til we were actually let into the USA,
Maybe ring back and speak to a different agent?

They offered me a refund in June when my Miami flight was still going.

Hi how did your “pick your options” work? Did they pick alternative flights for you as an options or dates?

I am anticipating my September trip to CA will be changed as BA hasn’t been flying between LHR and San Diego. My mom keeps telling me to relax it will work out. Lol They are flying alternative routes via a US hub. BA are saying that if they cancel I can change my routing to get to SAN. They also said I leave from DUB rather than BHD or go to LAX. I am flight only. I don't care how I get there as long as I get. I have US and Irish passports so am allowed to travel. I am just curious about the process?

Edited at 04:06 PM.

I really hope you get sorted out about your booking and I have seen suggestions of ringing about 8am sometimes means you don't have to wait too long. Good luck

Edited to add - Sorry about the history lesson or the overflow of information in my previous post
Thank you so much, and no need to apologise. As you say, the more information we have the better so we can all get our bookings sorted .

The email says the options are 1. Book alternative flight, 2. Request a voucher and 3. Request a refund.

It says ‘if you select option 1 we will book the closest alternative flight for your trip. Your new itinerary will be emailed to you. If we cannot find a suitable alternative we will contact you to discuss other options.’

Wish I knew how to screenshot on here .

Hope you get yours sorted .

That is great. Thank you. Hopefully mine doesn’t change. 🤞🏽 In the meantime, I will stayed focused on what I am going to when I am there and planning for Florida trip for next year.

I hope you get sorted as well. 😊

We had the same two emails in reverse (for the same date) and the options email arrived about 4 hours later.
I’ve not tried contacting anybody yet. We still have the voucher from last August’s cancellation. I’m dreading the 2022 prices when they become available to book. 😢

I know this thread is for Gatwick / Heathrow to MCO but I assume the cancellations are also going to be relevant for Gatwick > Tampa flight?
