I know, they are in really good Nick. My husband did cry a little when he realised he had another floor to sand, stain and varnish opposed to paying for the lads to fit laminate, but I’m thinking of the savings 😂

Well we are back to chaos and dust everywhere as this weekend has been sanding the old battered varnish off the kitchen floor.
First coat of stain gone on today. Looking pretty good. Needs varnishing too Then will be onto the living room!

I’m going to have to be nice to him for ages as he’s done such a good job! And it’s a fairly hot miserable dusty one too
I like that it’ll never need replacing, we are staining then clear varnish, so we can just top up the varnish whenever it starts to chip/wear

Been in 12 weeks today.
Both floors are now sanded, stained and varnished My husband said he may have no knee caps left, but I think they might be over rated. All the big jobs are done now internally, just a case of getting our kitchen fitter back for half a day, and glossing, putting up curtains and the like. Hoping for the plastic to come off this week in the kitchen 🥰 My husband is going to sort out the fireplace in the lounge himself with some stained timber. It’s been a long 12 weeks, but can now start to see the light. We’ll get through the winter then attack the garden in the spring x

It looks brilliant, your DH did a fab job on the floors. How awesome will it be to take the plastic off the cupboards!

And finally (bar one tiny bit of trim and a plug socket) my kitchen is done.
