We are hoping to go next year for two weeks for our honeymoon and we are trying to work out how much money to keep aside for spending on the trip.

The last two times we went, we had the quick service dining plan for the first week, plus the $200 gift card, so we hardly spent anything and all our money went on the second week when we were offsite and I’ve totally forgot how much that was…

I think at the minute though we are kind of saying $150 a night for two adults.

It really is a piece of string question, but if pushed, I think $50 per adult per day is a bit tight, drinks and an ice cream will easily be $10 of that. If you have cereal bars or similar for breakfast that would make it more manageable though.

For the 3 of us, any US trip we budget for around $200-$250 a day. Some days we may just grab a pizza and spend less than $100, so on the days where we do spend a little more, it isnt noticeable overall

For 7 (incl 3 under 10) we are budgeting for $500 per day food and snacks. The kids also have $300 each for spending money saved up instead of Christmas and Birthday presents.

If it's not enough - we're on holiday and nothing is set in stone
