Is there an age limit for Alcatraz tours?
We need to know if there is an age limit for the Alcatraz tours our childrens will be 4, 2 (almost 3) and 7 months ( I'm currently pregnant at the moment )
I know our kids are young to be touring california but we have always said our children will not stop us exploring places and our 2 boys love holidays and are very good travellers! But I do understand due to safely some things do have minimum age limits and I'm wondering if Alcatraz is one if them! ? ! Thanks x

No minimum age, but they may find it boring and there isn't really anywhere you can take them ( apart from off the island ) if they are bored.

I agree that they could get bored. Bear in mind that the first thing you do is walk up a big old hill. The best thing I found about Alcatraz was the audio tour - it was excellent - and I'm not sure you would be able to appreciate this with little ones in tow personally.
It can also get seriously choppy in the Bay. First time I tried to get to Alcatraz, we docked at the island but they wouldn't let us off because the waves we so bad and they feared they wouldn't be able to get us off before a big storm hit the Bay. I would have been happy to stay there overnight but that wasn't an option There were plenty of people green and ill on that boat that day! |

I loved this tour - it was brilliant. The very little ones might find boring but your 'boys' will love it
