Sorry, I'm not a fan of DLRP either.
Been once a couple of years ago, paid a fortune for a 5 day break. Thought the Cheyenne was a bit dilapidated and mealtimes were a scrum! |

We go every year to DLP and we have never had a complaint. The food is as expensive as you want to make it, we don't eat in a lot of the resatuarants to keep the cost down. We also never pay that much to stay there, if it was that expensive we would not be able to go. My children love it and are already on at me about booking for next year. You can't compare DLP to WDW as they are not the same but we have never found it to not be disney. The holiday we had this year to DLP was one of the best and we really enjoyed the studios with the new cars ride and my dd loved the high school musical parade and as she was dancing along to it one of the girls in the parade came out and got her and spent the rest of th time dancing with her, this is something you only normally see in florida. If you want the full benefit of DLP then you do need to stay in a disney hotel and go when there are not a lot of crowds. We personally do not like the sante fe hotel, hotel cheyanne and we are not too keen on sequioa lodge, but then there are hotels in WDW that I wuldn't fancy staying in either. I agree with the not queing for characters so we do not bother with them in the parks and we see them in the hotel (much more organised in the hotel the make you que).
I think everyone has there own opinions but we personally can only afford to do florida every few years, so we go to DLP because we can afford it and think it is good value for money.

Couldn't have said it better. Each Disney park around the world is different - wouldn't it be boring if they were all carbon copies of each other.
The worst part about being at WDW is the obnoxious American tourists thinking they are better than anyone else. Ooh and if you think the rides at DLP aren't up to WDW standard, try Hong Kong Disney! |

MMMM..Americans can be very pushy... Of course us Americans can also spell correctly, put up with the main land Europeans and their obnoxious habits, we can deal with the fact that DLP had to be changed from the pure Disney experience to suit the European taste so #######izing the whole thing.
Errr...maybe because we are, let's face facts, you would all be speaking German right now if not for our "tourists" in the 1940's... Ho hum, another day on the Dibb. |

Of course as a whole the people that worship a 6 foot Rat are kind of sad, the original Disney concept has been laid bare to the needs of the mighty $$$, hell even WDL has gone to hell, so sad to see what has happened to it over the last few years...
To many pushy Asian tourists btw. |

WE went to DLRP in February this year and thoroughly enjoyed it, even though it was damn cold! The Studios IS a little lacking in atmosphere but MK is lovely, in fact I would say the Thunder Mountain, Space Mountain and Pirates of the Carribean are better than WDW. The problem is that the park was put in France and no one seems to have the concept of queueing.! WDW is always going to be the best option, but DLRP is nice for a fix - out of season that is!
