We had 2 full days and could have done with another just so we could eat more! I will definitely visit again!

My daughter`s just come back from a 3 night break in Chicago and said its the best city she`s ever been to. They had 3 full days, crammed loads in and walked their feet off. However she said an extra day would have been ideal, as they could have slowed up a bit. It`s on my list of must do places now after seeing her photos etc.

Three absolute minimum , you'd be fine with four or five too.
Fabulous city with great public transportation. Hot in summer but hugely snowy in winter |

DH and I stayed 6 nights in Chicago in May 2015, we both loved it and agreed we preferred it to New York. We stayed in the Hard Rock Hotel on Michagan Avenue so we were able to walk to most of the main attractions - the aquarium, natural history museum, Navy Pier, 360 Chicago.
Six days was plenty of time to do everything we wanted at a fairly relaxed pace. Depending on the time of year I would highly recommend hiring bikes and cycling along the lake. Also we booked a fireworks cruise from Navy Pier, which ran 2 nights a week when we were there, which was fab. I'd suggest buying a Go Chicago card in advance if you're planning to visit several attractions. Have fun!

Just got back from a trip including Chicago, 4 days there seemed like enough for me, could have stayed longer or squeezed more into each day, but we took our time with each activity. I recommend a architecture boat tour while there, so interesting seeing the city from the river.
