I'm pretty sure if you book the transport through Disney with your package, then transfers will be included. So if the price difference between the room+tickets and room+tickets+flight is only £100 then I would book it all with Disney to save you the hassle. But there are other ways round that if you wanted to save a little bit extra.
The train from Newcastle to London takes about 3 hours during the week. And then the Eurostar takes around 2 hours 30 minutes. You just need to price everything up and see which is going to work out best for you

The Eurostar gets in at lunchtime, so if you're only going for a day or two it might be worth factoring that in.
There are offers on the website now for a free night with every stay of 2 nights/3/4. It's not actually over Christmas/New Year itself, but all the Christmas stuff will be up from November to early January, so it might be worth it. We were just looking at Santa Fe which was £270 for the two of us for a night's accommodation (park tickets and breakfast included) in mid-December. Add a couple of cheap flights and it would have come to just over £500. But in the end we decided we couldn't afford to do it, as we're already doing a long weekend in Venice in November and need to save for Euros for that. Shame!

We went for new year 2007 stayed 3 nights in Sequoia Lodge, unsure of cost, cost more than our summer holiday to Spain though, we booked with local ta and booked flights throughout the previous year. Great atmosphere, never been anywhere that was so busy on 31st/1st.

So I take it DLP is open New Years Eve and New Years Day? I wasn't sure if it shut early on New Years Eve then was completly closed on New Years Day? I am hoping to book this in next few weeks. I know it sounds alot for 3 days but with it being the New Year period you are expected to pay more. Does anyone know if you book directly through the Disney site does this include transfers from airport to hotel and then return back from hotel to airport?

No, it doesn't - you need to book those separately.

Wouldn't it be so much better to email them directly so you get an accurate answer from someone who works there? I'm sure there's a contact page at the bottom of the disney website!

You can get a train from the airport to Disneyland Paris - website is here: tgv/?source=google_...FRdqQgodNVbJYA
Takes about 10 minutes, apparently. We didn't manage it because of a rail strike! VEA coach didn't come either - too much traffic. So we got a hugely expensive taxi, because by then we were just desparate to get there! We did use the VEA coach going back, which was OK but took waaaaay too long. vea/uk/infos-lignes.asp
