I think the wording was something along the lines of 'guests are allowed if they are staying with you' but not 100%

Yes you need to be staying on site and guests need to be on your reservation. Probably not rigorously enforced but that is the rule.

They do on the balcony but I'm not sure about the lounge.

Should have said you show your DVC card to the special desk on the left as tou enter BLT. They will then send you up in the special elevator.

The official line is:

The lounge is available to Members and those in their traveling party who are staying on that Member's reservation.

We've been up there loads of times but never noticed that Geoff.

The staff only check DVC membership, not the number of guests on the booking. We've taken lots of guests up there, never been refused. Disney want as many people as possible to spend money up there. Certain holidays are excepted though.

The outside wall was lower when BLT first opened...that was scary!

Guest Guest	Apart from peak times, i wouldnt think they would care if your son and his gf are staying with you it was all very relaxed
