Foden is truly a top level footballer and will only get better

We have some of the most exciting midfield players in Europe Foden, palmer, Eze, Gordon, Saka and Gallagher yet the bafoon in charge of England will pay a boring defence midfield

I’m assuming that you then agree that L’pool also bottled it all those years they finished runners up to City.
I said Arsenal bottled it last season and they did

In the last 18 league games, they dropped just 5 points, 2 of them in a draw with City and thus, that day, City dropped two as well.

They were simply beaten to it by the best Premier side since the inception of the Premier League, by ‘fair’ means or otherwise.

Arsenal have had a magnificent season to even be in contention on the last day.
No sign of Liverpool, Chelsea, Spurs etc. ‘Bottlers’ they most certainly are not.

Congrats to the Villa and a superb fourth.
The sentence about bottling it was in reference to last season... which they did and I still maintain it was their best chance.

If winning nothing means Arsenal have had a magnificent season then fair enough

That’s a matter of opinion. Like I said, beaten by a better team with more experience.

Arsenal learnt from last year, improved and got better. I expect the same to happen again next year. This Arsenal team will be PL champions within the next 5 years.

Do you think Liverpool bottled it this year? Or the year they were 3pts clear with 3 games to go and then Stevie G fell on his backside

I get what you are saying, but I also understand the ‘bottling it’ comment - it did feel like bottling it last year, but I also think that it was understandable - they are a young side, and football is 50% physical and 50% mental - they sure have the talent, but mentally I think (certainly last year) their inexperience of being at the top showed - the longer they play up there the more used to that pressure they will get, and as you say, they will win it soon I’m sure.

Liverpool have the same experience that City now have - competing at the top for a long time.

I don’t see ‘bottling it’ as a criticism as much as agreeing with you that experience, mentally, was lacking last year. They’ve already improved in that area this year, but that was helped by City leading the way at the end I think.

No I don't think Liverpool have bottled it this year.. but definitely a yes to the other one

Arsenal definitely bottled it last season... had a great chance to win it and failed. I agree they have improved this season and maybe had they not lost the key game at home to Villa things would have been much different.

Time will tell whether they will win the league in the next 5 years but if they do then they'll have deserved it

Rodri summed it up after the the game on Sunday. When Arsenal came to City at the end of March they could have put City out of the title race by beating them, but they came for a draw and were ecstatic when they got one. Rodri said that it gave City a boost that Arsenal were so negative and convinced the City players that they could overhaul them.

I'm not an Arsenal fan by any stretch of the imagination, but I don't agree. Arsenal took 4 points off of City this season, 4 points off of Liverpool. Taking more points off of your rivals than they get is normally a route to success. What cost then more is the 6 points they dropped to Villa or the 4 they dropped to Fulham.

I don't think a squad like City's need any convincing that they can overhaul anyone.

They’ve had a better season than 18 other clubs in PL. and considering we wer finishing 8th and a mess of a club when Arteta took over, I’d consider finishing second on last day to be a successful season
