I've been watching a lot of travel vlogs since the US opened up again and the bread rolls have gone from all classes on VS. Chris mentioned she got cheese and biscuits but from what Ive seen it looks like its a dessert option, it used to be served after dessert with a glass of port.
I really do understand that VS need to recover costs, they have had a nightmare but just tell us thats what it is... There will be 2 menu changes before I fly so fingers crossed it will improve as if I was flying tomorrow I would be taking my own food on the plane. Thats a shame as the food was always a highlight of flying UC for me.

Menu from when I flew for anyone who is interested. Champagne was a bit meh but I like Hambledon so I was sorted. Crew were quite accommodating and I seem to remember that there were some limited alternatives

I flew in the new UC suites earlier this month. Having been very excited about them (facing forward, window view, individual seat) they were a huge disappointment. They were so uncomfortable. It was not possible to just recline the back rest on its own. Every time you moved the back rest, the actual seat moved forward, down and the foot rest started moving as well. As a result the only way you could have the table in front of you was to sit bolt upright, otherwise you were too far forward and there was no room to swing it round in front of you. It also put you at an odd angle to watch the tv as your head was never supported, unless you wanted to look at the overhead vents or sit fully upright. Having flown frequently on the old seats I would choose them every time.

No definite dates but usually mid March time. They then serve 'the spring menu' - lets hope it's better although I doubt it could be worse.
Definitely no bread rolls in either direction, no port offered but pretty sure it would be available if asked for. One improvement I noticed were the snacks available, different crisps, chocolate, biscuits, pretzels etc - even better selection on the return. We also had to ask for sleep suits on the way back, used to always be left on the seats. Once the cupboard opened it was soon emptied - all were L/XL though so covered my hands and feet well Jill Edited at 06:43 PM. |

Yes Adam, it was the cheese board dessert we for lunch. Many will be ok with the food, but we're basic food eaters, all the smaltzy stuff with spices and herbs our stomachs can't tolerate. Hubs had heliocabacter many years ago that messed up his stomach, hence I changed my eating choices to fairly basic too and can no longer stomach spicy food. I'm content to make a nice ham, lettuce and tomato salad for our return.
One of the best evening meals we had was about 10 years ago, a delicious chicken Caesar salad, as crew were giving options all you could hear was 'Caesar please'. Col, the menu you show was on our flight, had I been aware I'd have knocked out a couple of sarny's in the Clubhouse for onboard The 'high tea' was disappointing. The roll was almost frozen and the filling soggy, as was the 1" piece of wrap. Tried the scone but found it stodgy heavy.
