Massive waste of police time & money ...

seriously how can this be happening ? I thought there was obviously more to this story? but no he called a couple waitresses 'pet' & this is threatening and abusive behaviour

must admit thats what i think but nothing being said apart from an argument & the us e of the word 'pet'...

dont know the fella but always seemed an amiable bloke ...

speaking of a waste of money the partygate Police costs were £500K and levied £12600. seems like a good return...

The thing is that sometimes the cost of an investigation compared to the financial return of a fine imposed by a Court is well justified.

Justice must be done and also seen to be done and if an investigation costs tens of thousands but only a £50 fine is imposed then in most circumstances that is fine.

Otherwise we will end up like America where a sum of money is allocated to a murder investigation. The amount depending on who the victim is and the public interest in a case. That can never be right.

Unfortunately that’s not the process CPS use, if they can’t guarantee a conviction, if the cost of the trial is high, then they drop the case
