Kenny the pirates reporting relaxed borrowing rules from June.
Hmmm…. The skeptic in me says this is not a good source?
The optimistic in me has my fingers crossed they do relax it. What do you think? False news? kennythepirate/2022/...rowing-points/

I know little about this website but it will be interesting to see should it be true how they deal with calls on a “case by case basis”
That will leave Member Services open to being abused by callers who they decline. Interesting times. Good find, well done.

This seems to be the case already, on a FB group it has been a hit and miss but most of the times people can borrow a few extra points (on top of the 50%).

This was all over the FB groups yesterday, most seem to think it's legit, we'll see.
Hopefully a sign that things are returning to normal? Dare we think that?

Ooh I really hope so! I did think if it was true it would be elsewhere but that’s the only one I saw. We only have a small contract so the rules relaxing would be a big plus for us.

It doesn't seem to report anything new, really. It states that the rule still applies but they may allow more on a case by case basis. From what I've read they've been allowing this anyway. I've seen a number of reports of people being allowed to go a few points over if they didn't have enough to make a full night. I assume this is what this is referring to? I can't imagine they'll start allowing some people to go over by dozens of points, but refuse others.

Given we are not doing WDW this year due to last Xmas’s park experience and we are instead paying to stay at Universal (mad isn’t it really) we have too many points. We will have nearly 500 next year and given we are not sure we will even want to visit a park next year, borrowing is not something we need!
But I know many like to borrow so glad it may be relaxed for those who need it. I wasn’t actually critical of Disney on this one and think they played coronavirus pretty well on the DVC side and were pretty fair. Credit where it is due.

I feel like this this is something of nothing and this is the only place I’ve read it. We’ve booked and rebooked our dvc several times during the pandemic and recently went and we asked MS to borrow points and they’ve always said no. We’ve had to buy extra on time use points, which incidentally we lost during covid so had to buy again annoying! So to us this is very welcome new news.

Covid got us out of the "Borrowing cycle" & for the first time ever, we rented out surplus that we would lose on may 31st! I very much doubt that we will be going next year, if predicted energy rise on Oct happens, that £200 more a month than we were paying on Mar 31st & seriously decimates the amount we can save each month so looks like back to every 2 & in theory we shouldn't need to Borrow ever again!

I had a shock yesterday, Octopus basically said we have to pay £5k a year for gas and electricity, that’s before any future price rises! This will hit a lot of people.
