Virgin Atlantic Boeing 747-400

We've currently booked seats at the front of the plane but think we might change to the back. Do they let people off from the front and the back ? We want to get to security quickly.

You still have to get transport to the gate anyway don't you, so it won't make any difference?

Transport to the gate? You're already at the gate when they open the door.

Yup, the transport is your legs.
1st off is 1st to the immigration queue.

If you're in economy then the bubble economy get off before the lower deck economy. Or have for the flights we have been on.

If you're in economy but lower deck then the nearest to row 25 is best if you want to be off quickly outbound.

To be fair the flight home isn't so much of an issue, the quicker off the longer the wait for luggage to come up !
