getting around on public transport

Hi All
I'm new to the forum so hope I'm doing this right.
Were looking forward to our first Disney holiday in may this year, we have 2 kids 6&9, were taking my parents too, so there are 6 of us travelling.
We chose not to hire a car, the Disney buses seem to be good enough for what we need, were staying at Coronado Springs, and there seem to be lots of stops at this hotel.
Were looking into travelling from our hotel to universal,
ive tried looking for local bus times, but all I can find is lynx which seems to say that it would mean 2 bus swaps and almost a 2hr journey to get there?,
Uber seems popular but as there are 6 of us would we all be able to travel together?, and are they expensive?.
sorry for all the questions in one thread
Hoping someone with experience can help.
Thankyou in advance

others may disagree, but with two youngsters like that,it would be a taxi for me,both ways, obviously it would depend on how many times you intend visiting other parks? ,e.g. universal/ioa/seaworld/wet n wild/shopping, may be better or cheaper to hire a big car,but we are all different, did it once without a car ,never again, but if 99% of the holiday was in disney and we were staying onsite, the free busses are very good, and would get the odd taxi if needed, especially shopping, e,g, premium outlets/mall at millemnia/florida mall, hope this helps, bondy.

We are the same but with grandchildren this time who are aged 5 and 2. Always stayed onsite And used Disney transport then a cab to universal. Never had any prob but we do not go on shopping sprees as not interested. I leave that for our NYC trips. Have read many posts about Uber but worried they do not cater for a group like us so will prob still use a cab from hotel. We are back at POR this year.

You could use Uber XL. That or a Taxi. Lynx is your only public transportation option.

if you need child car seats, Uber won't be suitable (unless you take your own but then you need to take them with you after the journey).

We used Florida Transport last year and for a car that seated 6 it cost us $45 each way excluding tip.

Wow sounds expensive but I suppose if we only go twice its not too bad.
It's an option so Thankyou, at least we can budget for this in our day now X

I'm afraid the USA is the land of the car. Distances are huge compared to England. You're going to an area the size of a Greater Manchester without the good public transportation system. Cheapest way is the Lynx bus, but it's not quick or efficient.
