Cycling in the Lake Buena Vista area

Anyone cycled or seen many people cycling in the Lake Buena Vista area.I am considering hiring a bike when we travel and stay.I have found a couple of companies that hire weekly and can deliver and collect to our accommodation. Think it would be a good way to see more in the area and keep fit while we are away. We are staying at the Blue Tree Resort and not sure if we could cycle to the theme parks from here. Would help with shopping for basics at least

No one cycles, much too busy, downright dangerous. Distances are much further than you think. The whole tourist area is the size of Greater Manchester.

In all our visits I've only ever seen one cyclist , a roadie out on turkey lake rd about 07:00am ...

As above its far too dangerous on the roads with no , as far as I've seen , provision of cycle lanes etc

I wouldn't dare chance it ..

Is Blue Tree the one next to Cypress Pointe? You can walk to Walgreens and also Winn Dixie from here for groceries if you don't want to have a car.

We cycle quite a lot in the UK and I categorically wouldn't consider it in the theme park area of Orlando. It would be no fun and I question how safe it would be.

thats just around the corner from where we were, delta orlando , we saw a few people cycling of various ages but usually only as far as disney springs which was about a 25min walk from our hotel. Never on the road though, they used the paths and crossing points. Cycling to another park though ... i would say either get a car or use provided transport from your accomodation if they do any.

As a cyclist who has cycled all over the place I definitely would not cycle around Disney. Way too many junctions and so many tourists who are not always familiar with roads etc

In all my visits (and we always have a car so are out and about a lot) I've only ever seen bicycles in Celebration and those weren't on roads, they were on a path around the lake.

My DH loves cycling when we are in Florida. However he goes South of 192 in Kissimmee in the residential areas and on nearly empty roads. It is nothing like the built up tourist area in Lake Buena Vista. Bikes are definitely not suited for getting to the theme parks either.

The hourly rental in Celebration is perfect for a senic and relaxed ride.
