We used it because they said normal would hurt the animals. You could actually see a film of "oil" on the top of the lagoon where you snorkel with the rays and fish and I the rays were getting stood on when they came up in the shallow area. It just made my conscience and my heart pang because although it was one of our best days, after the orca scandal plus seeing this and thinking about the animals, it made us decide to give it a miss this time around.

My son had really bad eczema and allergic to paracetamol. We used the sun cream they provide because it's kind to the animals and it was wonderful on his skin! It's called panama jack I think so maybe you could try and get some before to try on your son in a controlled environment?

The cream they use IMO is horrible, really thick and takes ages to rub in.
You are supposed to use theirs, but if it's for medical reasons they are ok if you don't. I would imagine if everyone decided to use their own then it would cause a problem.
