MNSSHP Newbies - Any tips?
Hi lovely Dibbers,
We will be doing MNSSHP in October for the first time. We are a family of four, our kiddos will be 5 and 3 at the time of the party (very almost 6 and 4). We've not been before and are aware there is a lot on offer, and are realistic that we have two small kids who probably won't last all night. Any tips on must do's/must see's? Any advice generally? I know they will both want to collect candy, but trying to figure out what else we should plan for. Thanks so much |

Obviously the parade and fireworks are a must seen no matter what else you do. Trick or treating is good later on as the queues quieten down so don't spend time doing that first (plus you will be lugging candy around all night).
You can choose to do rides as the queues are shorter but bear in mind a lot of people see it as a waste of money if they have a normal park ticket and can do MK any time during their trip. The only exception which you have to do is Haunted Mansion, thw CMs go all out at the parties. There are rare character meet and greets but again big queues and some people don't want to spend all party waiting for them if they aren't bothered by characters. Also a lot of party-specific merch is around the place. Dress up if you want, or not, you get a mixture or both but it feels more fun to do it. There are rules on what you can wear though so check that out first (and nothing that'll mean you can't cope with the heat Your party tickets gets you in from 4pm. Grab a QS meal if you need to eat. You could let your kids sleep in that day to see how they go on the night, after 11pm it gets really quiet around the place.

If you do want to meet characters you can get in the queue to meet them before the party starts. We did this to meet the seven dwarves last year. We joined the queue an hour before the party started so it was a long time waiting around but once they came out we had seen them within twenty minutes and we could enjoy the rest of the party.

Getting Excited

Very excited, we have just booked tickets for the 25th August, bit strange celebrating Halloween in August, but so excited to have the opportunity. Xx

Hocus Pocus show is great don't miss that one and don't be surprised if your kids both make it to the end :-) my 4/5 year old was still riding tea cups at midnight and only conked out when we left the park. 9 month old was also still awake at the end. soak up and enjoy the atmosphere, dress up its really good fun.

When we went with our two girls 6 and 4 we took them to bbb at downtown disney (as it was called then ) early on in the day then headed over to the photo studio there and had a load of photos of them in their princess dresses added to our momorey maker then headed over to the party. They loved the parade, show, fireworks, meet and greets , dance parties and trick or treating I don't really remember going on many rides there was so many other things going on

Have a lazy morning both before and after , it's worth staying if the kids are ok. We do loads of rides as the character lines are just too long to stand in. It's just a fun night but I love hocus pocus , the parade and fireworks
