Thomson Dreamliner Questions
Hi All
Flying out from Newcastle in 18 days on the Dreamliner After reading a couple of trip reports I have had conflicting info on the earphone socket one showed a photo with the double pin adaptor and one showed a normal one pin socket. Please can anyone confirm which is correct or if its pot luck? If it helps we are in the extra leg space seats. Also while I'm asking do you get blankets provided? (I'm always freezing) What is the drinks service like are they large or small cans and is it plentiful? Thanks in advance Jo

From what I've seen on TA... it appears it's a double pin socket but accepts a single pin 3.5mm jack.
This page on Thomson suggests you get a blanket and pillow on night flights... thomson/flight/flyi...h-us/long-haul No idea on the drinks front... I don't see them handing out 500ml cans of hooch willy nilly though |

It is a 2 pin but apparently will take a normal 3.5mm, I've only flown in premium and the drinks were full size as and when you wanted them but I think they just do 2 drinks services in economy but don't hold me to that.

we had the extra leg room seats this year, we had pillows but no blankets (i bought a cheap fleece from the m&m shop for coming home), the headphone jacks were double ones but they worked fine with just 1 pin, drinks ... hmmm .. wasnt overly impressed with this part, no cans or individual bottles of water, all came from larger bottles poured into a glass, the same with spirits/wine .. i pressed the call button, which it says to do if you need anything, i just wanted another glass of water ... after 30mins i just turned it back off again even though the stewards were constantly going past, its not that large an area where the extra leg room seats are and had 2 stewards allocated to it but i dont think anyone got their call answered for extra drinks

Ok Thanks for that. I will take my travel blanket and always take water on with us, but best to be prepared.

Flew out on Thursday thomson PE absolutely excellent service as usual. Drinks free flowing, always available but came around 3 times with soft drinks and alcohol and also with each meal served and as we boarded.
We love thomson Dreamliner but I loathe Sanford. It's he drive after landing would rather be at MCO

Last year we had pillows and blankets on return journey as it was a night flight.
Going out drinks and food not and issue, return flight very stingy in drinks we only wanted water but very slow and not overly accommodating. |

We had pillows and blankets on the way out to Florida on Thursday (and have always had them on return leg)

its a two pin jack socket on the thomson IFE screens, however, plugging in a single stereo jack will auto-detect and work appropriately.
one thing to note though, the sockets feel quite loose, so i actually ended up plugging my headphones into a twin adapter just because knocking the cable slightly made it fall out of the socket! you can get a pair of them for a few quid, so they are always useful to have knocking around in your travel bag! amazon/Mobi-Lock-C...2d67827a178ee9 |
