Booking Princess through an Agent
We are looking at an Alaskan cruise with Princess next year. We have always booked direct for Med cruises but someone mentioned to me that if we use an American Tour company to book we would get better T&Cs, does anyone know if that is right?
If so can anyone recommend who we should contact? We will be arranging our own flights as we have lots of reward points to use. |

Princess don't allow Brits to book through US agents - regional pricing they call it! It galls me that excellent offers available to residents of US and Canada are not available to us.
The only way round it is if you have a 'reliable' US postal address you could use and hope Princess don't rumble you. This happened to a distant relative and they had to pay the difference (US v UK) at check in or be denied boarding. Princess say it's in the small print. |

That is a pain, I wasn't looking to do anything underhand but thought it may be beneficial.
It is cheeky to put that in the small print as they must know they are being unfair! |

They know full well! They push prices to the limit they think the market will support - Australians and Kiwis are equally disadvantaged.
On a Princess Caribbean cruise we discussed pricing with some Americans we met. Like for like cabin they paid 65% of what we paid plus they got a drinks package and free gratuities! For information, this is from the Vacations to Go website: International Booking Rules We are able to offer the deeply discounted U.S. rates of most of the cruise lines we represent to citizens of other countries. However, the following cruise lines now prohibit all U.S. travel agencies (including Vacations To Go) from selling cruises to citizens of countries other than the U.S. and Canada, unless they have a residence in the U.S. or Canada. This is not a Vacations To Go policy or a U.S. government policy, it is a corporate policy instituted by each of these cruise lines. Holland America Princess Star Clippers |

It's exactly for that reason that I won't sail on any of those cruise lines. Voting with my feet and wallet. Although I would love to cruise with Princess, maybe when I buy a villa in Florida
