Security queues at Manchester Airport?
Anyone flown this week from Manchester and experienced longer than usual queues at security?
A friend was queueing for over an hour and almost missed flight last week, so just wondered if it was a one off due to short staff or if it's the norm at minute poss due to increased security? We've never been delayed there before and normally straight through so wanting to judge how long to allow for our flight next Saturday. We are doing sunset check-in night before so will literally b leaving raddison blu then going straight to security usually allow 90mins in past and it's fine but thinking maybe to go 2 hour's before instead. Edited at 03:56 PM. |

We always allow more than that but haven't been through terminal 2 security recently so can't help with an estimate. I have just bought fast passes for security with my parking to minimise any delay.

We flew on Thursday. We were fast track so not too bad. Lots of people asking for help in normal queue as they were close to gate closing.

I walked through it last week in 20 mins but the girl behind me said her mum had waited 2 hours the day before. So it must be pot luck depending on the day, time and how many flights are going near your time.

Last week, terminal 2 was a 10-15 minute wait. It was an afternoon flight which imo is generally quieter.

Took about an hour to get through on Friday morning, we arrived about 7.30 a.m. The staff were walking the queue and calling people through if it was close to their departure time. Then immigration at Mco was a nightmare, we landed at 4 pm and it took nearly two hours to get through.

Thanks for your replys everyone.
Think we'll leave raddison 2 hours before, maybe consider buying fastrack when we do sunset check-in the night before. It's 9:15am flight from terminal 1. I know I'm going to be anxious anyway and will just want to get through security asap as I always feel safer at the other side.

Last Tuesday TC and others at T1 had a check in system failure
flights from 6am had massive queues with a knock on effect for other passengers I believe it was confined to that morning facebook/ManchesterE...54666630942060

We are flying from t1 so doing sunset check-in night before and I've bought fastrack for security today. Want to try and minimise any delays and hanging around as much as possible. Thanks again everyone for advice.
