Mobile New York... maybe Disney too?

We are going to New York next year, I haven't booked the flights yet. I have thought about squeezing a cheeky few days at Disney too before or after. Has anyone done this 2 city break and what are the costs/pros and cons please?

Back in 2006 we had about 4 days in Vegas, then a week in Bahama Bay followed by a few days in NYC.

Sorry can't remember much about costs as it was back in the good old pre-Virgin TCD days. They booked all the flights and accommodation.

We were only 60 then though . Not sure we could cope doing it now. We took off or landed at 9 different airports during the holiday

We are doing this in a few weeks time. We fly into MCO with Thomas Cook from Manchester, we have booked a budget hotel the Holiday Inn near Universal and Universal park tickets with Kenwood travel. Then we fly to JFK with American Airlines and have booked an hotel overlooking Central Park for 4 nights with hotels.com before flying home with Thomas Cook from JFK to Manchester.
It has been quite simple to organise and has worked out around the same price as one complete stay in Florida. Although I do think we will need more spending money for NYC than Orlando. We have bought NYC Passes for 5 attractions to save some costs on entry too.

We've only been to NYC once so can hardly claim to be experts. One thing we did learn though was to buy tickets for some of the attractions from the hotel concierge. They were at face value and we bought them for the Empire State Building and the S of L/Ellis Island boat. We avoided massive queues by doing it.

To get you in the mood here's the marble entrance lobby to a fairly famous building on 5th Avenue - a monument to good taste . Any guesses?

Is this Trump Tower? Our hotel in a few weeks time is just around the corner from there 😀

It is indeed. We had a coffee there and obviously no idea that we were being entertained by the future president

Don't think that he was there training as a barista though

Shame, he could fall back on the trade when his current employment ends 😀.

Looks great!
We are at a wedding in NYC.. outside of the city, we have 2 young children and no Summer Holiday booked so thought Disney could be a good call but it will be money depending.

I wonder what will be more useful to him in the future?

A barista or a barrister
