Weekend break ideas

Having just come back from a busy Florida holiday with the children and the mother in law, me and my wife would like to have a weekend away somewhere.

Anyone able to give me some ideas of where to go?

Don't mind flying as long as it's around a 2 hour flight and even open to nice places in the UK.

Fire away and thanks in advance.

Lake District would be my choice. We went to a wedding last year near Windemere at a hotel called The Wordsworth. We keep meaning to go back but not managed it yet.

Had a few days in Prague last week with mates and it is a lovely place, planning on going back DW later this year. Although we were primarily there to drink (visiting local breweries) we traveled all over the city and a bit further out to, there is plenty to see and the public transport is great.

Edinburgh or York both great for weekend breaks and you can get the train and relax

My husband and I flew to Dublin in march for the weekend and had the best time! I'd highly recommend it, it's a fantastic city!

We visited Edinburgh with the kids over Easter and that was great too.

Out of the two however I'd go back to Dublin.
