BA Executive Club free additional driver question

Used BA loads of times for car hire through AVIS. As executive club member, I get second driver for free. Never done this before and normally go straight to car as name is on board when just me driving as i'm Avis preferred member. How does this work if DW wanted to drive? Do I just show her Driving License at the barrier or do I need to go to desk? BA site says not to add 2nd driver details when booking but surely AVIS need to know her details?

I emailed them and they've said you have to go into the office to add the second driver as I'm in the exact same situation

You go to the kiosk they have in the garage and do it there. Then once sorted you pick up the car as normal.

When I used avis previously your spouse was automatically included for free, it seems to vary whether they need to sign the agreement.

I can confirm that the second driver has to be present as they are required to sign the paperwork as well.

I'm in BA Exec Club and Avis Preferred. A week last Tuesday when I asked the agent at the kiosk in the MCO garage whether she needed to see my wife's driving licence, she said no as she is automatically covered to drive. I seem to recall this being the same the last time I rented in USA as well - seemed strange that they wouldn't want to see my wife's driving licence, but looking at Avis Ts & Cs, the onus appears to be on the renter to ensure that the spouse is qualified to drive the car.
