If You Dont Collect Car VH/Alamo

Am i right in thinking if you dont collect it nothing happens?

No bill for not collecting etc

DHs dad still hasnt booked our flights yet but just looked and VH is coming out really cheap at £405 each!

we have used Alamo fine but he isnt a fan of them and would rather use Hertz so thinking would just pick basic car & not collect it

Correct, nothing happens. You'll be surprised how many people don't collect it! Insurance is so expensive for it people buy elsewhere!

Correct - nothing will happen. Your Alamo rental will invariably be pre-paid, so no loss to Alamo... other than one of their desk agents not getting the opportunity to do the hard-sell on car upgrade / GPS / insurance upgrade / key loss insurance / tyre puncture insurance / tank of fuel etc.

In fairness to Alamo, the tank of fuel is generally not stupidly priced if you want the convenience of returning the car empty. In our experience, the gas stations nearest the airport are not the cheapest as they know many people will be filling up rental cars to avoid refuelling costs. If you don't buy a tank of fuel from the rental co, just fill up about 15miles from the airport where it's slightly cheaper - the fuel gauge will still show full when you return the car.
