Mobile Will the dining plan become good value? Exchange rate

We are renting points to stay at BLT next November. I'm thinking about buying the dining plan to go with it. Normally I wouldn't, it's a bit to much food for us. But given that it may well be 1:1 next November, would it be smart to have already paid for food? If anyone sees a flaw in my plan please let me know!
Thanks!

when the euro wen't down 20% I bought it as I didn't want to stress about every single item we eat. It gives you piece of mind, that food is dealt with regardless of currency fluctuation

We also bought the regular dining plan then no worries. We are also staying club level so that takes care of Breakfast, drinks and snacks.

In a word, no! Bearing in mind the dining plan includes desserts with all TS meals you'll probably be buying things you really don't want to eat on the day because you're full.

Paying out of pocket is always the cheapest option. Unless you're big eaters, you can always buy meals to share if you're not really hungry and no-one actually needs a dessert during the day, quite honestly.

We are DVC members and had to pay for our DDP in dollars. At $1.44 it was still over £900 for the two of us for 8 days. Would you really want to be eating nearly $70 a day EACH in food? And then there are the tips on top of 18% for TS meals.

The rate at the moment is seriously scary, and I really believe it's worth waiting at least until after the US election to see what happens.

OP, I'm confused. You talk about 'next November' as if you're going in 2017. You mean next MONTH according to your ticker!

Do you already have your dollars for your holiday?

I stand by my point about buying the DDP. Maybe you'd be better off with the QSDP if you really want to pay up front - there won't be any tips to find on top that way. However, I still believe you'll be paying for food and stuff you won't eat. The number of cakes and pastries that we all get that end up uneaten and subsequently thrown in the bin doesn't bear thinking about. If the dining plan is free then it's not important. If you're paying for stuff just to throw it away, that's just madness.

Sorry, I should have said. I bought my $ for this November a while ago, at a rate I'm okay with. But we have next year (November) booked also, and I'm concerned about how far the £ will have fallen by then, just to cover food.

You will need to pay for the DDP in dollars so that will go up as well!

Eating is very expensive in the parks

It's hard to save money with a dining plan if you're paying for it. If I was worried about the exchange rate I'd convert some £ now either into cash or on a prepaid card. That way you lock in today's rate but you are not committed to the dining plan.

Got to disagree there, each to there own but we have had ddp 4 times and never wasted a thing or had any spare credits, I am a size 14 so not a huge lady , I eat healthily at home but for us holidays include enjoying food that we don't eat at home and lots of it lol
