Cancelling Borrowed Points
If I borrow points into my Mrach 2021 use year and then have to cancel, do those borrowed points return to my 2022 UY or remain in 2021 (i.e. if I borrow points now, am I committing to using them by end of Feb 22 at the latest?)

They are returned to the new use year (ie with a shorter time frame to use or lose them)

Oh bum. So I definitely don't want to be borrowing yet until I have a clearer idea for August then!

I understand they have been temporarily returning borrowed points on cancelled reservations via an automatic computer sweep on Thursdays. Certainly I got my borrowed points unborrowed for my Xmas trip. How long this lasts for however is another question as no one knows.

I recently cancelled and they were returned after explaining we were in the UK and no chance of going this year etc. Whilst we cannot travel i'd be inclined to think this policy will remain.

Currently they are returning to their Original UY, done this last week, but they are warning that they don't know how long this temporary measure will last.
It does really highlight one of the "problems" with being a UK owner, it doesn't really matter that all the DVC resorts are open if you can't get into the Country IYKWIM. If we have to cancel again (3rd) time I would in theory have until end of May '22 to sort something or lose 175 points that are currently Banked from '20 but I'm in the "BA loop" so only have until Apr'22 if we have to cancel Sept SD

Is it best to call them or just let the computer do it's thing next Thursday?

I just did it online, I was able to Bank my '20 points straight away but the Borrowed took a couple of days to go back to '21 - not sure if it would be any quicker if I had actually spoke to them

My banking window is closed at the moment so I just called them. 45 minute wait so I'll have to call them another day as I won't be able to be on hold for that long 😬

If you’ve missed your banking window I’m not sure they will allow you to bank after that
