Hotel rooms opening dates at some of the shared resorts with DVC

As reported on the DVC news website, the Beach Club will open it's hotel rooms to cash paying guest on 30 May followed by Wilderness Lodge on 6 June 2021.

BWV and AKV opening dates are unknown and the Poly is sometime in the summer of 2021 which is currently undergoing renovations.

The resorts with DVC and hotel rooms like the BCV share the running cost of falicities, so with only the DVC rooms open has there been any offical announcement that Disney will still contribute the same percentage split towards the running cost even though they are not earning from their hotel rooms?

Hopefully they will as it's Disney's choice not to open up their hotel rooms.

Interesting question. As you say, they could open them now but chose not to. There must be some written agreement on this somewhere, but don’t think anyone has ever seen it. I suspect it’s silent on this scenario, so Disney will pay its fair share you hope.

From what I remember the split is done via the amount of check in/check outs on the DVC side- so longer stays on the DVC side (and/or lower occupancy) the more the hotel side (Disney) pays for the shared facility's . It's something that is waited towards Disney normally as DVC runs at almost 100% occupancy and most stays are relatively short in duration resulting in ore check ins/ outs and so higher costs to DVC.

When the Resorts closed we got a rebate partly for these costs- Disney would still have to pick up its part of the shared costs.

I would imagine that as DVC is now slowly starting to get back to normal levels, the numbers on DVC side have returned something closer to normal, so cost split will be the same - unless something changes in the new year again.
